Infrastructure & Waterways
Infrastructure and waterways are crucial for life and to prevent crises. Innovation and critical thinking are necessary to keep infrastructure up to date and functional. Water is continuing
to rise at record-breaking rates and plans need to be
flexible and functional.
Recchia emphasizes the need for educated, updated infrastructure and waterway plans in order to have a
functional plan for the community.
Diversity & Equality
Joanne Recchia is truly passionate about this issue, as it is one that impacts so many people all over the world. All members
of a community deserve the same level of
respect and equal treatment.
Recchia fights for equality and for each citizen to have a fair chance at success by having the same opportunities and the same resources. Recchia believes in equal opportunity regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or zip code.
Strengthening Social Services
Social services are vital for the health, safety, and wellbeing of Macomb residents. This includes firefighters, police officers, teachers, first responders, and the numerous other hardworking Americans who work every day to strengthen communities.
Recchia aims to strengthen Macomb’s social services by protecting the workers. This includes protecting pay and pension. Recchia believes in fighting against “The Fireman’s Rule,”
which prohibits firemen and police officers from
collecting damages from injuries or even death that
occurred from negligence on the job.
Combatting Corruption
Macomb needs to elect someone who works for the people, not for their own monetary or status gain. Trust and belief in elected officials is a necessity for the successful function of democracy. As the community changes, so must the people representing it in order to ensure progress.
That’s why Joanne Recchia believes in “people over profit,”
and why she signed an affidavit that she
is not accepting campaign donations.
